Flame retardants can be divided into the following categories according to their chemical composition and flame retardant mechanism:
Inorganic flame retardants : such as aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, etc., by endothermic cooling, diluting the concentration of combustible gas and forming a protective layer and other mechanisms to play a flame retardant role.
Organic flame retardant : such as compounds containing halogen, phosphorus, nitrogen and other elements, by trapping free radicals, interrupt the combustion chain reaction to achieve flame retardant effect.
Compound flame retardant : inorganic and organic flame retardants are reasonably combined, and their respective advantages are used to form synergistic flame retardant effect, and further improve the fire protection performance .
